Negan likes the ones who stared him down - Abe, Michonne, and Carl. (I think Daryl stared him down as well but we didn't see Negan's reaction).

I think Abe's going to die.

I don't feel like officially compiling them because :salt: but the reviews are not looking good for the episode, almost entirely because of the dumb idiot choice to not have 10 MORE SECONDS TO THE EPISODE and show us who died.

The point-of-view angle was designed to keep the dead cast member a mystery until next year (fuel for the endless online-gossip mill that keeps the show in the news during its off-season). But it had another, perhaps unintended, effect: Making the viewers feel like they’re the real victims. In short, we suffered through this whole season just to get beaten over the head. -from The Atlantic

Meanwhile, the AV Club, which imo is extremely hit or miss on how well they "get" TWD, hit the nail on for head with this line: When you’re telling a story, you want your audience to keep watching, so sometimes you use tricks to keep them watching, but the promise between you and your viewers is that those tricks will never get in the way of the story itself. The tricks will never become the point. But for The Walking Dead, the tricks are all that’s left. The show can only dangle poisoned treats in front of us, dropping them month by month, year by year, until we finally choke on them.

Like, Scott Gimple, all you had to do was take a Polaroid photo of a bloodied dummy head with the name scrawled on it, or even a damned styrofoam headstone propped up in the ASZ cemetery to fix this mess. It's astonishing to me that they knew this ahead of time thanks to the leaks, but did nothing that reaches real damage control. Not a damn thing.

Anyone else feel like Eugene giving his recipe to Rick was a hint he's toast?

I gave it a six and that's strictly because Andy just makes me feel every possible human emotion. His portrayal of Rick, (going from arrogant---> confident---> concerned---> worried---> panicky---> scared---> devastated---> brought to his fucking knees) just slayed me. Can someone please give this man a flippin Emmy already?

Carol/Morgan = yawn city. I don't care. I actually wanted rosary savior to kill her already. She gets to avoid Terminus AND Lucille and I'm supposed to sympathize with her breakdown? Rick, Carl, Glenn, Michonne,Maggie and everyone else gets to flip their shit now. They actually have a reason to hyperventilate.

I would say it's obvious they have one coming, but the saddest truth is you never really know. The Beth fakeout reached crazy levels of hype for reasons I still don't fully understand, since to me it was always clear it wasn't going to be as cool as the camp full of cannibals, lol. A lot of people on Twitter and reviewers even have been insinuating that they're done with the show. It could easily be a knee-jerk reaction, but just as easily be legitimate. I would feel bad for the team that works on the show, since they have a huge mountain to essentially re-climb after season six, but they were the designers of their own downfall, and should've seen it coming from how cheap people found the dumpster fake-out to be. Not that I want the show to kiss the fans' butts, honestly, since that's part of how we got to this point of just plot disaster with ELEVEN PEOPLE at Negan's line-up. But it's one thing to "pander," and another entirely to just keep betraying your audience's trust.

THIS seems to be the concensus based the comments here and on tumblr. Well, mostly the Andy's acting and JDM part...I haven't watched yet - I feel like just skipping to the last 15 minutes. T_T That's all I'm looking forward to. I have no fucks about that stupid Carol and Morgan storyline. and the endless driving around sounds asinine and moronic. AND NO RICHONNE REACTIONS WITH MICHONNE BEING KIDNAPPED?! :gabe:

Michonne/Danai looked so gorgeous there during her 2 seconds of screen time. (don't get me started). And I just saw Season 3 Michonne again with the Gov'nah. "I never stopped having my shit together"

This is how I feel. Gimple and all other EPs should not be exempt from consequences. They could have nailed it and they blew it. It's too much in one season. And who can guess how much worse they'll make it from now til Oct. There will be an impact. I'm confident of it.

Yeah, I don't like wild conjecture, but I feel 100% confident in saying that in no way would the audience or critics be THIS angry if they hadn't pulled GlennGate last year. The show was effectively on probation in the eyes of many, and while I just basically repressed the crap out of it because I'm TWD trash who wants 2 believe, but it was a huge misstep. I can understand Gimple trying to stand his ground, but to know what he knew and still go with this? It's nutty.

I am showing my husband this lol we just finished watching the finale cuz we were watching wrestlemania for like the last 7 hours lol ( i had no choice even though i do love wrestling) but my hubby is an avid comic reader/show watcher and I have been hiding spoilers from him for a while. He is PISSED about the season finale. Like he's talking jumped the shark stuff. I feel so bad for him. But this will hopefully make him laugh thank you!!

I will say one thing as a follow-up to my reviews post, which is specifically the criticism of TWD being nothing but tricks now. I really do disagree with that. We got some amazing things this season. The nastiest fakeout on this show in my opinion still rests squarely on the shoulders of one Glen Mazzara, and that was the mid-season finale for S3. Gimple isn't the first nor the last showrunner to rely on things like that, and I don't even expect a gimmick-free experience, but I DO want them to pay off. And I feel it's no accident that a lot of fans can't imagine a good enough payoff for this choice. :/

    I'll give it a solid 5!
Mostly for Rick's facial expressions and I liked Abe and Eugene's scenes. Plus, JDM is fine af.
I read some negative comments about 2dreadz, but I actually liked it!
I thought it displayed Rick's fear of where and what Michonne might be going through and how helpless he is about it. I think that might've been why he went all out savage!Rick on 2dreadz. He knew someone has the love of his life and taunting him about it. He was holding onto her locks because that was the only thing he had of her. In that moment, Rick really understood how special she is to him and how hard it would be to carry on without her.
AL's acting is on point! I felt his worry and fear!

No problem, friend; "minus five stars" was running through my head nearly the whole 90 mins. I quit on WM for this finale, and even though according to my brother I didn't miss much (I did manage to see Shane probably fuck up his body forever), I'm still not sure I made the right decision lol.

One other thing I would like to add is how forced a lot of the situations are. I would have liked it better had they played it the GN way and had the group escort Maggie and Glenn to Hilltop. At least this way, we could get Michonne and Glenn playing a role other than being hostages. I know they're trying to create a sense of urgency and suspense, but I hate how they have to write out some of their main characters so we could get this huge ass line up. Having a small group under the threat of Lucille would create more tension instead of having your audience think how they might cop out of this death by killing Abe, Eugene or Aaron.

Carl put up more of a fight in getting Enid to stay than Rick did with Abe, Sasha, Eugene, and Aaron. Why is Eugene there? I know he wants to be hardcore and all, but isn't he still injured? It's been what, a day maybe two tops since his injury from Dwight. Either Jesus worked a miracle or Rosita has some hidden medical talents.

    Holy shit.

Maybe I saw a different episode than all'y'all, but I was on the edge of my freaking seat for the entire freaking thing. And I even loved the Carol&Morgan bits because they gave me a chance to breathe because any time I saw that RV I was hyperventilating and vibrating and totally hysterical. But then as it went on they gave me tremors, too.

    Seriously.

I felt so bad for AL and his IRL wife because he must have needed to crawl under the covers and hide in bed for a month after filming that. What he put into this episode was like every other episode's intensity combined, on like AndrewLincolnStressSteroids. He was incredible before finding Michonne's hair, but the entire episode after that? I don't know he did that. How can anyone "act" like that if they're not living it? I don't understand it. Like, awe.

Okay, okay, so I don't like the cliffhanger at all. I might take one point away because I hate the cliffhanger. Only might. Because this episode was one of the most intense of the series. IMONSVHO, anyway.
